About Andrea – Veterinary Physiotherapist
A Calm, Kind, Animal-First Approach
Why I Became a Veterinary Physiotherapist (Human story)
Working with animals has been a lifelong passion, but my journey into physiotherapy began with a fascination for how movement, healing, and behaviour all connect.
The more I studied, the more I realised how powerful the right combination of treatment, exercise and support can be — not just for recovery, but for long-term wellbeing.
I’m driven by a simple goal:
to help owners understand their animal’s needs, and to help animals feel comfortable, confident and able to enjoy life again.
My Research: The First Formal Study on Hofmag® PEMF
A key part of my work is research.
My dissertation was the first formal study ever conducted on the Hofmag® PEMF system, exploring its therapeutic application in rehabilitation settings.
This study has been reviewed and positively received by leaders in the PEMF field.
It strengthens the evidence behind how electromagnetic therapy can be used safely and effectively to support healing, reduce pain, and improve mobility.
Today, I combine this research background with practical treatment — giving your animal access to therapy informed by both science and hands-on experience.
If you’d like to learn more about PEMF therapy and the findings of the research, see the dedicated Hofmag® PEMF Therapy page.
Collaborative Care With Vets
Veterinary physiotherapy is regulated in the UK, and I work closely with veterinary surgeons to ensure treatment is appropriate and safe.
Your vet remains at the centre of your animal’s care, and I keep communication open so everyone is working toward the same goals.
This collaborative approach helps create the best possible outcomes.

What It’s Like to Work With Me
Every horse and dog is different — and so is every treatment plan.
I take time to understand your concerns, your animal’s history, and what you’re hoping to achieve.
Appointments are calm, structured, and centred on your animal’s comfort.
When we work together, you can expect:
A thorough assessment of movement, posture and musculoskeletal health
Treatment tailored to your horse or dog’s individual needs
Clear explanations of what I find and how we can help
A personalised exercise programme you can follow at home
Support and guidance throughout rehabilitation
Whether your animal is recovering from surgery, managing a long-term condition, or simply “not quite right”, we will work together to support their movement and wellbeing.
Evidence-Based Physiotherapy You Can Trust
Andrea combines hands-on physiotherapy techniques with structured exercise plans and, where appropriate, Hofmag PEMF therapy to support healing and improve comfort. She works closely with veterinary surgeons and other professionals to ensure every animal receives coordinated, high-quality care.
Her goal is to help your dog or horse move better, feel better and enjoy a happier, more comfortable life.
Outside of Work
When I’m not treating horses or dogs, you’ll usually find me studying new techniques, exploring the New Forest, or spending time with my own four-legged companions.
Rehabilitation is both a passion and a profession for me — and I’m always working to stay at the forefront of physiotherapy and animal wellbeing.
